Every good chili recipe has a secret ingredient or two!

What's with the fine print? Hey, it's a secret ingredient we're giving away here! The least we can do is make it a little more difficult to read.

RichZ's No Compromise...No Excuse...No Apology...Chili will taste great made according to the standard recipe. But it'll taste that extra little bit better if you substitute very strong coffee or espresso for the pint of water used as a starter for the stewing process.

Ironic, isn't it, that with all my railing against the inclusion of beans in chili, it's coffee...made from the coffee bean...that I rely on to set RichZ's No Compromise...No Excuse...No Apology...Chili apart from plebeian efforts at chili. It's OK though, because the coffee bean isn't a legume to start with, and is therefore "legal" in chili.
